Biography
Born in Venice in 1970, Alberto Zampieri lives and creates immersed in the same light that has inspired great masters for centuries. His art arises from a constant dialogue between matter and imagination: marble, pigment, velvet, and tactile surfaces become gateways to dreamlike worlds, where the viewer is not a passive observer but an active participant, called to complete the meaning of the work with their own sensitivity.
After graduating from the Venice School of Arts and studying Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice, Zampieri embarked on a path that led him to experiment with different languages: painting, installations, performances, and video. Every stage of his career has been an act of research — a tension towards the unknown that takes visible form.
His first solo exhibitions in the late 1990s marked the beginning of an increasingly visionary production, characterized by surreal atmospheres and an almost alchemical relationship with materials. Over time, his work has intertwined with major cultural events, from his long collaboration with the Venice Biennale to exhibitions in historic venues such as Palazzo Da Mula in Murano – Venice, the Filanda Romanin Jacur in Salzano, the Canovian Wing of Villa Farsetti in Santa Maria di Sala – Venice, and Palazzo della Loggia in Noale – Venice.
Regina Art Gallery, a project founded by Zampieri himself, represents the ideal place — not physical but conceptual — where his works can exist without the limits of space and time. It is a permanent gallery, designed as a container and guardian of his visions, a bridge between the artist and those who wish to make his creations their own.
Looking at a work by Alberto Zampieri means letting oneself be crossed by images that seem to emerge from a dream, recognizing in color and form a part of oneself. Each canvas is an invitation to enter a suspended space, where the real bends to the poetic and matter becomes memory, emotion, revelation.
